Locater Retrieves in MI Management System

MI Management Locater Retrieval Power

· > Greater than

a. Example: "> Brown" in a alpha field such as Full Name

i. Locates all records starting greater than Brown alphabetically

· < Less than

a. Example: "< 60" in a numeric field such as age

i. Locates all records that have an age value less than 60

· => Equal to or Greater than

a. Example: "=> Brown" in Full Name field

i. Locates all records starting with Brown and including Brown alphabetically

· =< Equal to or Greater than

a. Example: "=< 60" in the age field

i. Locates all records less than 60 and including 60

b.  "=> 21 < 65" in the age field

i. Locates all records with age equal to or greater than 21, but less the 65.

· = Equals Blank

a. Example: "= "  in Producer Code field

i. Locates all records that are blank in the Producer Code. Does not have a value in Producer Code.

· /= NOT Blank

a. Example: "/= " in Producer Code field

i. Locates all records that are NOT blank in the Producer Code. Does have a value in the Producer Code field.

· / NOT

a. Example: "/JPP" in the Producer Code field

i. Locates all records except the records for Producer Code of "JPP".

b. Example: "/JPP;/CAN;/FRA" in Producer Code field.

i. Locates all records except these Producer Codes.

ii. Special Note: On multiple NOTs you need to use AND(";") not OR(":")

· .. Anything before or after

a. Example: "..david.. ..lisa.." in the Full Name field

i. Locates all records that have "david" and "lisa" in the Full Name of each record

· ; AND

a. Example: "Smi;ja" or "Smi ; ja" in the Full Name field

i. Locates all records that start with "Smi" AND has "ja" in the name also. This would locate "Smith, James" and "Smithton, Jason"

ii. This is a very fast way to retrieve instead of typing in the full last name.

· : OR

a. Example: "FRA:CHR:RRM" in the Producer Code field

i. Locates all records that have a Producer Code of "FRA" OR "CHR" OR "RRM"

· >-> Complete value nothing partial

a. Example: "50000>->" in Home Owners Personal Liability

i. Locates all records that have 50,000 in value, not any that are 500,000. This is useful in fields that have a numeric value in a text field.

· {today} Today’s date that changes with the computer date

a. Example: " {today}" in Expiration Date field.

i. Locates all records that expire today

b. Example: "> {today – 10}" in Expiration Date field. (greater than today’s day – 10 days)

i. Locates all records that will expire in the next 10 days or have expired.

· MM/DD/YY MM this month, DD this Day, YY this year

a. Example: "MM/DD+3/.." in the Birthday field

i. Locates all records that have this month, and this day +3 days of any year. This means everyone that will have a birthday in three days.

· Status Filter Button At the top of the locater, this will give you a status list. You can select a group of records with any status you want. The number of records will show at the bottom of the locater and that status group. You can over ride the status by typing in status codes.

a. Example: "A:I" in the Status field

i. Locates all records with a status of A or I.

· Save Filter and Load Filter Buttons At the top of the locater, this can save you time, if you need these certain filters every so often, especially if you use {TODAY} or MM/DD/YY on date fields.

a. Example: every so often you want to locate all policies that expire in the next 15 days. If today was 12/20/03 you would type in "=> 12/20+15/2003 , {today}+ 15
